BRRRRRRR....

Okay, my brain is frozen, my hands are unfunctional, and I am starting to stutter! Since our kitchen window is out, yes, remember it rotted out where the outside seal is? Remember we were supposed to have a window in 2 weeks? Well I called at the 2wk mark and it was just then being ordered and would take another 2wks for us to get it. In the meantime, last month all of our heat went out the window and our power bill went up. So to avoid another HUGE power bill we have the heat turned way low (like 50 degrees) to come on the save our pipes if it happens to freeze. Well thankfully for us it is not frozen outside. COLD and WET but not iced. In the meantime, our downstairs is 59 degrees and FREEZING!!!! Thankfully, my children love to wear pajamas all day and every day. Plus they have taken up to running laps around the kitch table and island. I think they are doing it to keep warm. Maybe I should go run a few laps too... must stay warm......

For family and friends, I know our house is well usually always cold to you when you visit. So be thankful you are not here right now with us in our even colder house. You would especially be freezing right now. I think my Mom left early the other night because she was SO COLD!

To all my Texas friends, truly sorry for your ice storm. Stay warm and praise God for electricity!

Well, I wish I could say that I have no idea how that is, but I have been there every winter for 3 years...until this winter, YAY!

My first thought though is plastic and duct tape....?!? It works wonders! and when you are cold who cares what it looks like LOL

Oh and another tip, you can get about three layers of seats on before you officialy cant move anymore. ;-)

Actually we do have plastic and duct tape around the window. We thought it was doing great keeping the house a constant warm temperature but our bill was sky high! So now we figure air is somehow getting out.

Yes, we are layered with thermal underwear, shirts and sweaters with hoods to keep us warm!

Thanks for the tips.

haha, I just read that I put seats, but I meant sweats...I guess you figured that out ;-0

Thats odd that your bill would have risen so drastically, maybe a piece of plywood up over the outside? Or a heavy blanket tacked up on the inside over the plastic.

Hope you get the window fixed very soon. I'm sure it's no fun freezing! We were out of power for 4 days last year with the ice storm, and you just can't relax...no matter where you go or what you do it's too cold! Kids are good sports, though, and seem to have their own little heaters inside!

I think it is all the running around they do! Daniel did pop the window back in and the heat is on. We should have our window by the 31st of this month... "should!"
