36 WEEKS

Wow, 36 weeks already. I can't help but wonder what it feels like to have had a baby way before the due date. I typically am not a braxton hicks person. I have never had them bad or painful to confuse it with real labor. I mentioned this to Sarah and knew it would hit me later. Well yesterday was such a strange day for me. I woke up fine, showered and started feeling weird. I even took a long bath after the shower. I felt tight but not extremely tight and achy in the stomach. The pressure made me have to go to the bathroom constantly, and I mean constantly. I felt extremely exhausted. I ended up reclining in a curled up position on the couch and slept off and on during the morning. That seemed to decrease the achy feeling and pressure. Peacock actually made breakfast (toast) and lunch (sandwiches) while I was on the couch. Daddy watched the kids in case anyone was worried. Peacock also washed the dishes (his new favorite chore all of a sudden and I am not complaining! He is really good at it!!!!). Then I napped when the kids napped. I did not feel hungry all day which is very unusual. Made a quick and easy meal and actually went to bed early for a change. Such a strange feeling. The next morning, I am back to normal! Boy was I hungry too! Not sure if my body was telling me something or just anxiety for what is to come. I really am excited about labor and birth and seeing what our gift is! Oh yeah, I did spend a lot of time in prayer for my fear issues I was having that morning. Little Mama came and knelt next to me and prayed. Peacock came up to get ready for church and knew I was not feeling well. He said he said a prayer for me! So sweet.

This morning was my 36 wk checkup. Of course, I had the Group B strep done and an exam just for the information. Here are the stats: not that it means anything except I have a good start already and the baby is engaged! -3/2cm/?eff/mid position/soft Only gained a lb in spite of all my eating. Maybe I will have another average size baby like Little Mama!

Now the hardest waiting begins.....

i am so giddy for you! just giddy. i was scheduled to induce and actually went into labor the morning i was scheduled. (yea!) but the 2 days before while i was doing so much prep work, i was so sick. i didn't recognize it at the time. it was hind sight that made me see it. although, i should've known... i rarely call my husband home for anything and i begged him to help me that last day.

anyway, keep up with all the updates! i absolutely love reading all the technical stuff! i'm so excited for you!

You know, I carried my 1st three past due, and was used to having lots of painless B/H contractions. About 2 wks before #4 was due, I had a painful one...next day, spent all day making chicken tetrazzini like mad (but forgot to put in the chicken...should've been MY clue) between increasingly uncomfortable, but scattered contrax. Anyway, as you know, the Cowgirl came 10 days early, the next day. What a shock! And a blessing, truly. I'm excited to see how your big day unfolds. And I am so happy to hear that you went to the Lord with your anxiety. I fought with fear a good bit regarding labor and life/school after baby. God is very good.

I'm just so excited! Take it easy and get plenty of rest. I will be praying that you have peace and that any fears you may have will leave.
