GARDENING

For the past few days we have spent the morning planting seeds for our garden. This garden consists of Mom, Sarah and I. It is hard work!

To start Mom had the kids do school. She showed them different seeds and their sizes. How the seeds grow. Garrett looked so cute sitting with them.

Smiley, on the other hand, thought the garden was one big sandbox and went wild quickly crawling from one end to the other! I had to put him in the pack'n'play.

Here are our rows of carrots, lettuce, onions, peas, beans, corn. The other side we planted more beans, squash, cucumber, and zucchini. More rows of corn too.

Now we wait and see if anything grows.... besides weeds.

Looks like so much fun! I can't wait to put ours in... although I'm afraid Eliana would do as Smiley did - and she HATES the pack and play! :)

Oh, yes... those weeds always come, don't they?

Corn. Mmm... my favorite garden treat. There is nothing like fresh corn on the cob!

Can't wait to get ours planted. Mark has been busy hoeing! :)

What a great size garden. Mines about a third of that and still seedless. I am having a hard time getting those plants in the ground, seems like something always comes up.

What good little ones all sitting quietly in a row;-)

They look so cute sitting in those chairs! Good for you for starting a garden-we hope to do that soon...

Can I just say your garden is bigger than my apartment? I'd love to grow stuff, but our neighbors would just steal it. So, please post pics as it grows so I can drool LOL

Oh Erin!! We may have thieves as well. Quite a lot of furry animals who will probably enjoy any growth in our garden!

Stacy--

I know what you mean about Corn! We planted Sweet Corn on the cob but also Silver Queen Corn. Our neighbors up the road have quite a big garden and they shared their Silver Queen corn with us. Oh I could not believe how good it was!

Not sure how people can plant bigger gardens. This garden is the three of us and it is a lot of work!

Audrey--

Ahhh, they always look so innocent and precious while sleeping or sitting still in a chair! Those folding chairs are perfect. Small enough for kids to carry and cute to sit in.

Great-looking garden! And a lot of work!! How great to get the kids involved. They'll love watching it grow and produce free food. :D
