A REMINDER FOR MY ATTITUDE

Lord thank you for this sink of dirty dishes; we have plenty of food to eat.

Thank you for this pile of dirty, stinky laundry; we have plenty of nice clothes to wear.

And I would like to thank you, Lord, for those unmade beds; they were so warm and comfortable last night. I know that many have no bed.

My thanks to you, Lord, for this bathroom, complete with all the splattered mirrors, soggy, grimy towels and dirty lavatory; they are so convenient.

Thank you for this finger-smudged refrigerator that needs defrosting so badly; it has served us faithfully for many years. It is full of cold drinks and enough leftovers for two or three meals.

Thank you, Lord, for this oven that absolutely must be cleaned today. It has baked so many things over the years.

The whole family is grateful for that tall grass that needs mowing, the lawn that needs raking; we all enjoy the yard.

Thank you, Lord, even for that slamming screen door. My kids are healthy and able to run and play.

Lord, the presence of all these chores awaiting me says You have richly blessed my family. I shall do them cheerfully and I shall do them gratefully. Amen.

[Audrey posted this a few years ago and I saved a copy for when I need the reminder! I so need it to day. I now have to reorganize the clothes in my closet AGAIN because Little Mama wanted to get new clothes for Angel Baby and since she does not know the sizes I had them organized in she got them all out! I hope you did not hear my yelling.... oh I would not yell... no not me.... :)]

Thanks for posting this. A wonderful reminder of what our attitude should be.
Hmm, maybe I'll go fold the laundry. :)

Love this-thank you-it's how I feel I lot of the time-everything is so disorganized, dirty, etc, except I often forget to be thankful for what we do have-dirty or not.

Wow-you yell? :-)

yell and slam the door. give the child the mad look then escape away to relax and PRAY!

Are you settled in your new home? I would think your home always organized and clean!

Thanks for the excellent reminder! I must copy that and save it for when I need it. I know how you feel, I have had moments just like you. I don't like admitting it, but it is true. We have much to be thankful for. :)
