Daniel's work gives them an item when they go a quarter without any accidents. For this quarter he recieved a tool kit/flashlight/hazardous light. He gave it to the boys for them to use. They loved it! They were itching to do something with it. When Daniel got home from work the next day they asked if he had anything they could take apart with their tools. He did not. For the mean time, he gave them some nails to hammer in an old railroad tie. Peacock even called Gramps and asked if he had anything in his garage he could take apart with his real new tools. Later in the evening Grammy and Gramps brought over a car. Let me just say they were two excited boys! They went right to work on taking the wheels off. It started to get dark -- our getting ready for bed and read books time but they were having too much fun so we let them continue -- so one would hold the flashlight while the other unscrewed the screw. It was wonderful to see them work together. Yeah, they did fight a little. One wanting the tool the other had, but for the main part they did work together. They said HooDoo was Uncle Derek and Peacock was Uncle Daniel -- which is his daddy. They were fixing the blue car since Uncle Daniel ran it into the tree.
I will admit it was so neat to hear them and picture them as adults helping each other on the car. You know, one brother calls the other and asks to come help him with such and such. I guess it is true, car mechanics come every other generation. Gramps is good at working on cars, his sons would rather not,and now two of his grandsons want to learn! That is a start!
